Bryn Kenney during game
Bryn Kenney was originally interested in magic but after that, he began to play poker and become one of the best poker players in the world.
Bryn Kenney is a poker player from the United States of America and is worth over fifty million dollars, which is part of why he’s considered one of the best poker players of all time. Another reason was that back in 2019. He had a major run in August at the Triton Million, where he finished in third place and earned over twenty million dollars at that event alone—one of the best in poker history.
Bryn was born on November 1st, 1986, and is originally from Long Beach, New York. His initial interest was in Magic: The Gathering in tournaments for that game before he finally switched to playing poker. In 2007, he earned his first cash prize at the East Coast Poker Championships. But his first WSOP bracelet didn’t come until 2014. He won over a hundred thousand dollars—halfway to two hundred thousand, actually—at the 10-Game Mix Six-Handed event.
But that isn’t the only WSOP bracelets he’s earned. In all, he’s made seven final WSOP tables and earned money over thirty-two times. The most significant cash winning was almost two million dollars in April of 2017 at the PokerStars Championship.
Bryn defeated the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, Joe McKeenhen, in 2016, at the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 Super High Roller event.
Making Poker History
Bryn is also known for winning the largest single payout in live poker tournament history at over twenty thousand dollars. This is why he is one of the most popular poker players. This particular tournament also had the largest scheduled single playout in all poker history. The first-place prize handed out was worth well over twenty-three million dollars. But, there was a deal made between another poker player named Zhang, so Bryn won twenty million for second place. In contrast, Zhang, who was the one who won first place, only took home sixteen million dollars.
When the tournament entered heads up, they made a deal with Bryn holding an over five-to-one ratio chip lead against Zhang. Zhang, however, was able to make a miraculous comeback and won the tournament. But the deal resulted in Zhang taking home the secondary prize. It was one of the most unexpected things in poker history that left fans reeling.
From a young man passionate about Magic: The Gathering, Bryn has done well for himself and has risen to become of the best poker players of all time. Now, he’s in 4th place on the Global Poker Index and first place on the Hendon Mob All-Time Money List, which was given to him on August 3rd in 2019.
In the present day, Bryn’s total earnings amount to over fifty-five million dollars throughout his entire successful career.
